Carlsbad

The Village by the Sea

The City of Carlsbad is a premium coastal resort city located within San Diego County in Southern California, and is one of the wealthiest communities in the state and the country. It is composed of four neighborhoods or quadrants, and has four school districts, all of which contribute to the high standard of living in the area. A bustling community in itself, it is home to a number of prominent personalities as well as headquarters for a majority of San Diego County’s top 25 employers.

Each of Carlsbad's "quadrants" have their own unique identities, ultimately resulting in the City's distinct personality. The northwest quadrant includes the downtown "Village", the Bario and "Old Carlsbad". Homes in the area range from 1950s cottages and bungalows to elegant mansions with oceanside views. In contrast, the northeast quadrant consists primarily of single-family homes, with larger lots found in the area of Chestnut Hills. The relatively newer southeast quadrant is home to several master-planned communities, the nearby Carlsbad Unified School District and the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa. The Southwest quadrant, which extends along the Pacific Ocean, includes the affluent resort neighborhood of Aviara.

The city’s main attractions include three beautiful beaches, premiere resorts such as the LEGOLAND California Resort and SEA LIFE Aquarium, as well as several award-winning executive golf courses and country clubs. For nature lovers, there are a number of trails to choose from, and lagoons and wetlands to explore. If you’re slightly less adventurous, however, Carlsbad is also home to a beloved spring tradition, which is the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch that opens for six to eight weeks every March, and is a popular venue for weddings, workshops, shows, and open-air concerts.

The city also features its own cultural and art hub, with its numerous art galleries and theaters to discover. On top of this, the city holds the annual Carlsbad Music Festival, which features world-class musicians and performers, and there’s also the Carlsbad Village Faire which is held twice a year, and is considered as the largest single day street fair in the country.

Besides these, there are also many commercial establishments, restaurants, cafes, specialty shops, premiere brand outlet stores and shopping strips which everyone can enjoy, all in the beautiful resort city of Carlsbad.
